Research The Practice
- Show interest in that particular practice.
- Mention certain aspects of the practice that appealed to you. This could be various treatments offered, awards won etc.
- Prepare your questions in advance.
Look Professional
- Dress smartly and professional.
- Keep hair, jewellery, make-up and nails similar to how it would be expected of a dental nurse.
Start On The Best Foot
- Prepare you journey in advance and aim to be 5-10 minutes early.
- Have you a paper copy of C.V (just incase the person interviewing doesn’t have a copy to hand)
- Check you have all other relevant paper work, i.e. GDC registration, if qualified, ID, Hep B vaccinations and your references.
Take A Moment
- Are you talking too fast?
- If you’re nervous, are you speaking clearly?
- Remember to smile and come across friendly
- Maintain as much eye contact as possible
Ask Questions
- Ask about what the role involves, what’s the other team members are like, what dentist you’ll be working alongside, what career pathways will be available to you, any training that’s included etc. It’s positive and shows you have reflected on the role as well as the company. Also, it will give you an opportunity to take more away from the interview, in regards to the role you’re applying for.
